Requirements

  • ✓A new IBM Cloud account
  • ✓Identity and payment-card verification may be required
  • ✓Pay-As-You-Go activation for the promotional credit
  • ✓The credit cannot be used for third-party marketplace offers

How to claim it

  1. 1Open IBM's official Cloud free-tier page and create an account.
  2. 2Complete the requested identity and payment verification, then activate Pay-As-You-Go if required for the credit.
  3. 3Open Billing and usage to confirm the $200 promotion before creating billable resources.
  4. 4Filter the catalog by Lite or Free plans when you want to avoid usage beyond the promotional credit.

Terms and notes

IBM currently advertises a $200 credit for eligible new accounts, valid for the first 30 days. More than 40 products have Lite allowances, but inactivity and monthly quota rules apply. Billable resources can generate charges after credit is exhausted, so spending notifications should be configured.
